The challenge

Quiet Mark is an international certification and award programme founded by the UK Noise Abatement Society to promote excellence in acoustic design. When we started working together it was already gaining recognition for its awards, but the opportunity was far bigger: to help consumers understand why sound matters, to get manufacturers to take it seriously, and to turn a certification mark into a global movement for wellbeing and design.

How we approached it

We began with Quiet Mark’s digital presence, turning a static website into an interactive global platform that brings industry, science and storytelling together. Consumers can find approved products easily and learn about the real health and wellbeing impact of sound. We also led the creation of the Acoustics Academy, an online hub that connects architects, designers and developers with accredited materials and solutions, linking product innovation to the built environment.

We helped Quiet Mark explain the science too. Our explainer content reframed sound beyond decibels, exploring sharpness, frequency and tone, so people could understand the quality of a sound as well as its volume.

What we built

For nearly a decade we worked as Quiet Mark’s embedded strategy, creative and digital team. We secured and launched its first exclusive retail partnership, with John Lewis, which opened the door to collaborations with Currys, Barratt Homes, Berkeley Group, Dyson, Miele and many others.

We created national campaigns including Find Your Quiet, which invited people to reconnect with calm and grew into an interactive platform where users could identify their home’s acoustic challenges and find certified solutions. We also produced dozens of experiential and media activations, from The Quiet Treehouse at the Ideal Home Show to the Quiet Homes initiative and the launch of the BFI film In Pursuit of Silence, and later added The Quiet Mark Podcast and a digital publication, Quiet Times.

What clients say

Outfly have been an incredible partner in helping Quiet Mark communicate the importance of sound quality in everyday life. Together we’ve built not just campaigns, but a culture, one that helps people, brands, and industries rediscover the value of quiet.
