Whether you’re looking for an adventure or a retreat, a get-together or a getaway, Boreland Loch Tay has room for it. When we first met, though, this homegrown Scottish business was known mostly for one thing: stag and hen parties. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, with travel restricted and staycations back in fashion, we saw an opportunity to broaden its appeal, with a new model and brand that could welcome every kind of booking, from weddings, couples and families to corporate events and away days.
That meant finding balance, not just between market segments but between what people wanted from their stay: wilderness or relaxation, adventure or downtime, celebration or retreat.

Our strategists positioned Boreland as a place to make memories that last, whether that’s with your friends, the love of your life or your team. That promise, along with the freedom to make the stay your own, is what sets Boreland apart from its competitors.
The identity is classic, bold and flexible. Modular components and a versatile colour palette give a consistent frame to every experience and activity. Inspired by the idea of guests setting off on a journey of discovery, the design recalls trail paths and signage and nods to the team’s Celtic heritage. The nautical flag alphabet even spells out words, titles and locations, an easter egg trail for eagle-eyed guests to follow.

The messaging stays uncomplicated, authentic and real. The strapline, Good times made easy, speaks to the first-class service, unbeatable settings and tailored packages on offer in four simple words, and each audience got its own proposition, giving the Boreland team a script for every type of customer.
The website brought it all together, with a bespoke booking engine developed by Outfly and user flows optimised for each type of customer. Since launch, our marketing team has planned, created and run Boreland’s campaigns. Paid campaigns on Meta and Google have brought hundreds of thousands of website visits, doubled direct bookings and tripled enquiries, while Boreland’s TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn channels now lead similar Highland businesses for followers and engagement. We also configured and manage a marketing and sales CRM, helping the team convert more leads, serve customers better and win more repeat bookings.

Absolutely loved working with you. Excited for the opportunities to come.
Dirk Bunskoek, General Manager, Boreland
Boreland’s annual revenue has passed £1 million. Once known as a unique and affordable option for a stag party, it is now one of Scotland’s most popular wedding venues, with an ever-growing customer base of families, groups, couples and corporates.
We don’t think it’s finished growing. There is still real untapped potential in new accommodation, new experiences and new locations.

Outfly, a London brand, marketing and product agency, has led Boreland’s rebrand, website and marketing since 2020.
