The branding and launch of a new rural internet provider that’s closing the UK’s digital divide, one home at a time.

We’re proud to have launched Gigaloch, an internet provider that brings gigabit internet to the UK’s most remote areas.

Our brand process helped the team uncover what matters most to them, defining a proposition that rural communities would support and advocate.

The brand colour, electric blue, quickly became famous in local neighbourhoods as residents saw bright trucks arriving to install their new infrastructure.

After the brand and marketing push in 2021 and 2022, Gigaloch has raised £2 million in investment and is now gearing up to connect hundreds of thousands of rural properties.

The branding and launch of a new rural internet provider that’s closing the UK’s digital divide, one home at a time.

Big internet providers have the resources and capability to get every home in the UK connected to fast internet but, to save money and maximise profits, often leave rural communities unconnected and underserved. Thankfully, there’s a community-based internet company up in the Scottish Highlands that’s shaking things up for the better.

We’re proud to have launched Gigaloch, an internet provider that brings gigabit internet to the UK’s most remote areas. Outfly’s strategists helped develop a business model that’s grounded in levelling up rural communities across the countryside, which means free installation, the first year free and a fixed, fair monthly cost thereafter. Combine that with industry-leading green technology that preserves natural environments, and free internet for local schools and community organisations, and you’ve got a winner.

Our brand process helped the team uncover what matters most to them, defining a proposition the public could get behind: one that isn’t driven by profit and greed; protects the local environment; and works hand-in-hand with locals to create a brighter future for rural Britain. Because it’s not just about getting people decent Wifi – it’s about keeping families in contact, local businesses afloat and the future bright for rural Britain.

Then came time for design. For the colour, we wanted something bold and techy, yet accessible, efficient and trustworthy. Electric blue was the perfect fit, and it quickly became famous in local neighbourhoods as residents saw bright trucks arriving to install their new infrastructure. The designers made the rest of the brand softer, to reflect the customer-first approach the team takes in their work, with contour-inspired curved lines that came to life in 3D to visualise Gigaloch’s growing fibre network.

Outfly’s marketing team has since worked closely with Gigaloch to build awareness, understanding, credibility and affinity for the brand in the rural areas it’s connecting. From designing and developing the website to running campaigns across paid, social, email and print, we’ve cemented Gigalcoh’s position as a leading ISP challenger brand. At the heart of it all is the ‘Behind the Fibre’ video series, a campaign which demonstrates the values of the company through the voices of its earliest customers — people in rural areas who had been left behind by the big telcos. In a series of documentary-style videos we explored their real life stories and the life changing difference a modern internet connection might bring.

After the brand and marketing push in 2021 and 2022, Gigaloch has raised £2 million in investment and is now gearing up to connect hundreds of thousands of rural properties.
